Auckland is ideally located! ActionKiwi can take you to almost anywhere and back in a weekend full of fun and adventure. We’ve designed our itineraries to allow you to experience both New Zealand’s beautiful sights and it’s unique activities. You’ll meet new friends, try things you’ve never tried and experience the real New Zealand.

We meet your needs and provide overnight tours for 6 people or more any week-ends or week days.

Trips depart from our base in Newmarket. If you want to be picked up from your central city accommodation or the information center at the Viaduct, let us know when you book.

Where Will I stay? 
ActionKiwi prefers to use backpackers so as to maintain a New Zealand 'Kiwi' feel. This may mean bunking in rooms with others and bringing your own sleeping bag/blanket. If you would like to upgrade to a single room or hotel accommodation, this can be arranged though it will incur an extra fee.

Our Guides
Our guides are professionally trained in dealing with tours and people. They are first aid qualified, and have a good knowledge on New Zealand (Aotearoa). The guides are friendly, and are determined that participants have a quality, exciting time.

Rotorua

$275 (NZ) per person

Includes transport, guide, accommodation breakfast. Also includes Farm Show, Whakarewarewa thermal area and Maori Arts and Crafts Centre, Gondola and two Luge rides.

Saturday

 We leave Auckland at 8:30am, and after a rest stop on the way arrive in Rotorua just before Lunch. After a lunchtime visit to Rotorua town centre, we head to a local Farm Show to get a fun and informative insight into New Zealand’s farming life. Then we’re off to Whakarewarewa thermal area to experience its geysers and bubbling mud pools. While we’re there we will also take in the magnificent Maori culture with a visit to a real Marae. The fun is not over yet…after dinner you can either relax in the hot pool or party on into the night. Options include a Maori concert and Hangi and the Polynesian Spa hotpools.

 Sunday

After an early breakfast we’re ready for adventure. First up is a Gondola ride to take in the views of Rotorua and its surrounding mountains, next we enjoy the thrill of two exciting Luge rides. Then we’re on to the famous ‘Agrodome’ adventure park. Options include bungy jumping, Zorbing, agro-jet boating, swooping or flying on New Zealand’s only freefall simulator. We arrive back in Auckland around 5:30pm.

Taupo/Waitomo

$275 (NZ) per person

Includes transport, guide, accommodation and breakfast. Also includes kayak rental and caving experience.

Saturday

Depart Auckland for Taupo. After free time to explore Taupo town including the famous Taupo bungy jump, we have time to kayak on Lake Taupo. We visit the Huka Falls before checking into our accommodation. Finish the day with a soak in a natural hot spring.

Sunday

Depart for Waitomo. See beautiful scenery along the way. See the amazing glow worms and world famous caves either wet or dry. This has been called “One of the most amazing things you can do in this country.” After a late lunch we depart for Auckland with lots of stories, arriving back around 6.30pm.

Bay of Islands

$295 (NZ) per person

Includes transport, guide, accommodation and breakfast. Also includes Waitangi entry and either ½ day kayaking or ½ day fast boat cruise.

Saturday

Depart Auckland for Paihia. We’ll show you some hidden spots on the way before we arrive and visit historic Waitangi and free time to explore the town. Enjoy the amazing scenery before we check into our accommodation Stay overnight in Paihia.

Sunday

Enjoy either a ½ day kayaking tour or an exhilarating fast boat cruise to the famous ‘Hole in the Rock.’ Either way you are bound to see beautiful islands and often get up close and personal with dolphins and whales. After lunch we head back to Auckland via thegreat Kauri forest and the famous "Tane Mahuta" Kauri tree, arriving back around 6.30pm.

Skiing / Snowboarding

From $225 (NZ) per person

Includes transport from Auckland, accommodation and breakfast. Ski/Snowboard packages available, please apply for details.

Friday

Depart Auckland 1:30pm. We arrive in National Park around 7:00pm.

Saturday

Skiing and Snowboarding. We will get up early to make the most of the day. We will help to arrange lessons for anybody that has never skied before, or help you with renting the equipment if you are experienced. We will be on the slopes all day, and we leave about 4:30 pm. After a shower and dinner to warm up, it’s time for the after ski party!

Sunday

Your choice, if you liked skiing/snowboarding and want to do some more, then we can take you to the ski fields. If you want to explore elsewhere and want a guide, we can show you some of the best sights of the area. Maybe you want to make a snowman, throw a snow-ball or just relax, the day is yours to enjoy. We will leave at 1:30 pm and we’ll be back in Auckland around 6:30 pm.

               Coromandel

             $250 (NZ) per person

These two days in Coromandel were like two days in paradise! Especially on Sunday in Cathedral Cove, we did have a great time. Thank you team for showing us these places and keeping us company. I enjoyed it a lot. Best wishes.

Saturday

Depart Auckland for Thames at 8:30am. We have free time in Thames where options include a working cheese farm, hand-made soap factory and local winery. Then we head north along one of New Zealand’s most spectacular drives to Coromandel town. The scenic Driving Creek Railway will give you views all the way back to Auckland. Continue on to Whitianga and our accommodation with free time to explore the surrounding beaches.

Sunday

What better way to enjoy Coromandel than kayaking in the bay? Enjoy a relaxed morning at the beach before heading over to the famous Cathedral Cove and Hot water beach. By the time we get back to Auckland at 6pm you will have lot's of great memories.

10-day Upper North Island tour

$1,455 (NZ) per person

Includes transport, guide, accommodation, breakfasts and dinners. Also includes Absolute Auckland Tour, Sand Boarding, Cape Reinga, Fast Boat trip, Glass Bottom Boat, Whakarewarewa, Maori Concert and Hangi Farmshow, Gondola and two Lude rides, Jet Boat ride and Cave Tour..

 

Day One

Arrival in Auckland, settle in to your accommodation and check out 
the city sights.

Day Two

The Absolute Auckland Tour. You’ll see the best that Auckland has to offer including volcanoes, sub-tropical rainforest, wild beaches and a working Emu farm where all the animals are hand fed.

Day Three

We move from Auckland to the beautiful Bay of Islands. On the way we couldn’t miss the amazing Kauri forest and a chance to see these giant trees. We’ll stop off to try our hand at sand boarding down the huge dunes of the area.

Day Four

 From our base in the Bay of Islands we’ll set off for the northern-most tip of New Zealand, Cape Reinga. Amazing views of coastline and the famous 90-mile beach will keep us camera happy all day.

Day Five

No trip to the Bay would be complete without boats. Today we’ll have two very different experiences. First a fast boat trip will show us the best sights of the Bay including the famous Hole in the Rock. Then on our drive back South we take a ride in a glass-bottomed boat to get a close up view of the incredible local fish.

Day Six

We’re off to the center of Maori culture and the thermal wonderland of Rotorua. We’ll see geysers and bubbling mud pools along with a Maori Marae and learn all about the culture before the Europeans. The evening will end with a soak in natural hot pools.

Day Seven

Action day! We start our day with a ride up above Rotorua on a Gondola to take in the sights. Enjoy 2 fast and exciting ‘Luge’ rides before we’re off to a Farmshow to learn about New Zealand’s farming life. Get your breath back before a Maori concert and Hangi (traditional feast) to finish the day.

Day Eight

As we pass through Taupo, we’ll stop to enjoy the huge Huka Falls from above before jumping in a jet boat to see them from below. This thrilling ride will be a highlight of your trip!

 

Day Nine

 We’ll enjoy the caves of Waitomo, world famous for not only their underground rivers but also their millions of glow-worms that light up the dark like a starry night. This has been called “One of the most amazing things you can do in this country.”

 Wave goodbye to your new friends as you depart Auckland See you again soon!
